  Camila Martino Blog Post Dear future me, in the first week of class, during the Public Speaking lecture, we discussed the process of writing a public speech. I never expected that this experience would make me reflect so deeply on how people communicate. Before starting this class, I thought it would just focus on how to deliver speeches in front of a group of people without being nervous, but it’s actually made me more aware of details such as the importance of listening, adapting to your audience, and building your confidence, which can affect how effectively you deliver your message. Once I became aware of how important they are in day-to-day life, I developed a deeper understanding of how communication works.   As one of the class project managers, I have the unique opportunity to listen to the group presentations in a different way. Even though I’m not involved in the development of a presentation, I’m tasked with both introducing and concluding the presentation, which is a very exclusive task. My responsibility is to maintain a good flow in between each presentation in order to keep the procession smooth. For our chapter presentations, it was my first time practicing such a task. I wasn’t sure of the particular way to go about presenting my assigned group since I didn’t have prior experience, but despite that, I managed to practice a process that I’ll use for the rest of the class this semester.  Group #1’s presentation was the most well-researched presentation in my opinion.
